film-competition-imageThe 2017 Cyclox Oxford Cycle Shorts’ short film competition is now open.

Last year’s event had 24 entries and drew great praise from the judges.  This year promises to be even better, with 4 prizes of £100, renowned judges including BBC Arts Editor Will Gompertz, and a gala screening in Oxford in mid October.

The 2017 categories are:

  1. Oxford the hero:  film that features the heritage of Oxford and best makes me feel like seeing Oxford by bicycle
  2. Cycling to school / work:  film that best encourages young people feel like cycling to school / celebrates cycling to school (or in the same way, to work)
  3. Starting to cycle (or cycle again) in Oxford:  film that best would encourage someone to start cycling or cycle again in or around Oxford
  4. Overall:  film that makes people (the judges) feel like getting on a bike and cycling the most.

Please read the terms and conditions carefully as there are some updates from last year, such as films being up to 3 minutes long.  Entry is open to all!

The deadline is September 15th 2017, so please start working on your entries as soon as you can!
