Aim:

  • Participants leave with the knowledge and skills to influence policy, campaigns and practice which will result in a modal shift to cycling.

 

Objectives:  

  • To learn about and share examples of joined-up policy, campaign and practice
  • To better understand why people to choose to travel actively, by cycling or walking
  • To understand how to step-change public and private funding for cycling (including quantifying the economic, health and well being benefits of cycling)
  • To understand design capability and best practice in UK and elsewhere
  • To support council officers and politicians to strengthen commitment to active travel
  • To foster networking and sharing among local pro-cycling activists

 

Participants:

Council officers, elected councillors, transport and environmental campaign groups (local and national), Cyclox members, local businesses and educational institutions, academic and other professional experts.
