d) Canal

The Oxford Canal is an important traffic-free leisure route for cyclists heading towards Banbury.

There are canal-side pubs and villages along the way, and the option of combining the journey with trains, as the line runs in parallel.  However, the path is narrow and bumpy in places.

The Canal River Trust have put together proposals called Sharing Towpaths.

From March – May 2014, you can have your say in their consultation.
