6. Planning consultations

Cyclox helps to improve our cycling infrastructure by advocating and campaigning to influence decision-makers and actively engaging with consultations from the City and County Councils.

Our current priorities are:

November 18
City Conservation Area consultation our response is here.

Cyclox has recently produced a headline response to the Oxford Local Plan 2016-2036 and our full response is here.

Cyclox is also a key stakeholder in Oxfordshire County Council’s ‘Connecting Oxfordshire‘ “transport-enabled vision of the future” which was signed off in September 2015, and aim to be very involved in their ‘Oxford Cycling Vision’, being produced by Sustrans and the WSP consultancy, hopefully informed by our ‘Cycletopia’ manifesto.

September 2017 A44 / A4260 corridor consultation While the response is still being compiled, the discussion on the Cyclox Forum has been very valuable. A summary is here.

October 2017 – The planned resurfacing of Folly Bridge offered an opportunity to improve the current cycle lanes which stop as you approach the bridge. Cyclox sent this response and has met with officers but we are not optimistic about the outcome.

We campaign for an inclusive cycle network, suitable for every type of cyclist.
We are excited by development and planned expansion of Oxford’s OxonBike cycle hire scheme.

The Cyclox lead for consultations is Alison Hill – please email her at consultations@cyclox.org if you can help with this important priority.
