Oxfordshire County Council say they want to “put a spotlight on the A40 corridor… to improve journeys for people and businesses who rely on this route” and that they have an “ambition for further investment”.

In January 2017, they council asked for views on the current stage of work: the feasibility design of the proposed A40 Eynsham Park & Ride and bus lane scheme.  Details of the proposals are on the council’s consultation page, along with the opportunity to respond by filling in an online questionnaire.

On 10th January 2017, Cyclox’s Dan Levy send in a strong objection to the proposed scheme, on the grounds that it substantially endangers cyclists, will discourage active travel, and fails to meet current design standards.  For Cycling UK, Graham Smith also submitted an objection to the designs for cycling, and James Dawton sent an objection to location and quality, especially regarding glare from vehicle headlights.

The public consultation closed on 12th January 2017.  The Cyclox lead for this is Dan Levy  – please email him at dan.levy@bt.com if you can help with this important priority.
