Roads Are for People is a public meeting with a focus on how we can make Oxford’s streets safe and healthy for all those who live, work and study in the city and for our many visitors. Our keynote speaker will be Andrew Gilligan, former cycling tsar for London and author of the recent report Running Out of Road, which was commissioned by the National Infrastructure Commission. The report details the need for ambitious investment in cycling in Oxford.

Low Carbon Oxford North, a charity based in the north of the city, is organising the event and we are grateful that the University of Oxford, Cyclox, and the Oxford Civic Society are also sponsoring it.

Our intention is for the meeting to bring together the many local organisations that are doing great work on this subject, along with concerned citizens, to create a clear manifesto and action plan – and a coalition to take the work forward.

Doors will open at 18.30, with the meeting starting at 19.00.
