Following in the wheels of Lord Nuffield

Sunday, 8th September at 10am

On the 50th anniversary of the death of Lord Nuffield, Cyclox is offering a gently-paced 10 mile bike ride for Cyclox members and their families and friends. This will include several brief stops for information at points of interest relating to the life and work of Lord Nuffield.
Meet Broad Street, Oxford (outside Oxford Campus Stores).  Ride ends at Nuffield College at approx 1200 followed by a pub lunch, for those who would like to.

Please pump up tyres before setting out. We advise that you carry a spare inner tube for your particular size of wheel in
case of punctures.

Cyclox will also be offering this ride during Oxford Open Doors on Sunday 15th – see the Oxford Preservation Trust website for details.

Thursday, 19th September at 7.30 p.m,

St Michaels in the Northgate, Cornmarket St

David Early and colleagues from the Planning & Transport Policy Service will talk about the Headington cycle hire scheme.  Bainton Bikes managers Kevin and Honour will be talking too and will bring one or two  of the (high tech) bikes along. All welcome, free entry, refreshments.

All change at the Plain

Cyclenation Conference

Bookings are now open for the joint Cyclenation/CTC/Leeds Cycle Campaign annual conference, 5th October.

Why can’t women race in the Tour de France?

A petition has been set up to ask that there is a parallel race for women at the same time as he classic race.  http://www.change.org/petitions/aso-amaury-sports-organization-allow-female-professional-cycling-teams-to-race-the-tour-de-france
