Walking, North Side

The cycle track exists to give the buses a clear run, but creates several problems for pedestrians that need to be fixed. There’s a notable flow of people walking into Oxford from the Park & Ride site at Seacourt. This should be encouraged by making a continuous back-pavement route. The cycle track also needs to be narrowed to slow cyclists at the two bus stops.

Seacourt: create a new strip of pavement linking to the rear pavement.

Osney Court: continue the rear pavement along the wall.

Lamarsh Road bus stop: narrow the cycle track through the bus stop area.

Bullstake Bridge: Move the bikes next to the road (make the route for pedestrians continuous with the rear pavement).

Binsey Lane bus stop: create a new path from just beyond the first access road, to run behind the bus stop

Binsey Lane bus stop: then connect to the back pavement just after the next access road (this is simpler than using the existing path, because it avoids moving drains)

Binsey Lane bus stop: narrow the cycle track through the bus stop area.

Binsey Lane: link to front pavement

Binsey Lane: traffic island to make it easier to cross

Abbey Road: traffic island to make it easier to cross, or widen pavements

Roger Dudman Way: traffic island to make it easier to cross
