DR ALISON CHISHOLM, DR JULIET CARPENTER & ROBERT WEAVERS
Earlier this year, a small team at the University of Oxford organised a Citizens' Jury called called the Street Voice.
Their aim was to create an opportunity for local residents to understand each other's views and experiences of, and perspectives on, the introduction of measures (such as LTNs) to reduce the negative health and climate effects of urban traffic pollution; and to share the significance of integrating diverse opinions, developing mutual respect, and co-generating an understanding for sustainable urban development and planning, while considering broad principles, rather than the technical details of such plans.
Three members of the Street Voice team – Dr Alison Chisholm, Dr Juliet Carpenter and Robert Weavers – will tell us about the project's purpose, methods and findings.
